with her eyes still more or less attached to her phone due to only just now breaching the safari wilds, petra yelps as she trips over her absol. stopped in it's tracks and trying to alert her to the fletchling directly ahead, the bird tilts it's head curiously at the clumsy trainer.

"augh...! sorry." she murmurs under a grunt, getting back up to see the fletchling flapping it's wings to take to the air. her absol, making a face, seems to be troubled by the fact it was getting away "eh, it's no big deal." it wasn't one of the species petra was looking for anyway. "there's plenty more pokemon to see here. let's keep moving."

plucking one of the wireless earbuds from the container in her pocket, petra puts on a playlist of all her favorites to help ease the (boring) pass of time until their next encounter. losing herself to a musical trance, the sudden approach of a mienfoo comes as quite the surprise.

the flurry of fury swipes glance her absol, but the disaster pokemon's future sight has already glanced towards the outcome of this battle. and while the following drain punch causes her pokemon to wince a little in pain, her victory is quickly realized.

struck by a surge of accumulated psychic energy, the adolescent mienfoo surely slumps to the ground with an audible thud. "okay, okay that's enough!" shocked by the sudden outburst of battle, she scrambles to lob one of the safari balls at the pokemon. after a single shake, it rings to signal a successful capture. "nice! we got it!"

running over excitedly to collect the ball, petra places it into a vacant holster before waving her pokemon along. "c'mon, there's still something else we need to catch."

little time passes before the next safari denizen crosses their path. recognizing the varoom and it's typing, petra makes an adjustment, allowing her cubone to come out and do battle as opposed to the absol.

"mimi, use your bonemerang." as expected, her little one obliges with a vigorous throw of her bone baton. eager to show off her might, it is no surprise to see it track down the varoom before it can escape. a few churns of it's motor were heard before sputtering out, allowing petra to capture it with ease.

"good girl." patting mimi on the head as they moved to collect the safari ball, their pace eventually continues as they delve further into the safari zone.

eager footfalls continue to bring petra and her pokemon closer to their next target. finally a species that she recognizes effortlessly among the tall grass, the size of the lileep becomes more and more disconcerting. "holy big bertha..." she utters under her breath, feeling as though the lileep were already the size of a matured cradily.

reluctant to let mimi take on such a large adversary, petra brings out her mienshao in order to knock the big punching back around. "see if you can't knock it into the air with your drain punch." watching her pokemon's pace compared to the large lileep, petra watches confidently as the mienshao makes it's mark. their only problem is the gastro acid spewed down onto the mienshao, though it seems capable of shaking it off as it hears another command.

"now drop it with hi jump kick!" launching itself heel-first, the mienshao spears the lileep as it falls. as it's body takes the shot and shudders from the recoil of it's plummet to the earth, the fossil retracts it's appendages and seals it's face defensively before sucuumbing to an unconscious state. pondering for a moment, petra eventually decides to capture the lileep. with one more safari ball to go, she hopes to find the pokemon that'd managed to elude her all day...

catching a glimpse of it's yellow fur from the corner of her eye, petra casts out another pokeball, allowing the shellder it released to take her mienshao's place in the battle. conjured on the far side, the wild rodent realizes it has no choice but to battle.

the mud bomb shellder launches catches it, covering the pichu's sight and causing it to miss the thundershock released. the second mud bomb is for good measure, pelting the pichu down, allowing it to bathe in the mud.

rushed hands fumble the last safari ball that petra uses to capture the pichu, unable to hide the excitement in her body language. with four species occupying the devices provided, she returns the shellder and quickly makes way for the safari exit. after a visit to the pokemon center and a nice bath, it would be right back to training.
